Welcome to the 2017-18 Affton Youth Hockey Registration!

This registration session will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment. Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately. To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account information available.  Following the completion of this registration, you will see a charge on your account from Affton Youth Hockey.

2017-18 Affton Youth Hockey Programs

The Affton Hockey Club offers programs for all ages and skill levels from Learn-to-Play to Junior Hockey.

 

Learn-To-Play is run by our highly experienced LTP staff.  No skating experience is necessary to participate in this program.  Learn-to-play skates are every Sunday afternoon, beginning on October 8, 2017 and concluding on Sunday, March 11, 2018.  There will be no LTP on Christmas Eve (12/24/17), MLK weekend (1/14/18) and President’s Day weekend (2/18/18) for a total of 20 weekends.  LTP players will learn the basics of skating, stick handling, passing and shooting.

 

6U ADM Program closely follows the guidelines set forth by the American Development Model (ADM) provided by USA Hockey.  Our objectives include nurturing a love of the game at an early age and emphasizing fundamentals including skating, stick handling, passing and shooting.  Station based practices are utilized to maximize learning and to capture the attention of our young boys and girls.  Games are played on a Cross-ice rink against other local organizations. 

 

The season consists of:

-25 total practices (25 hours)

-10 to 12 cross-ice games (5 to 6 hours)

- 3 or 4 tournament jamborees (4 games or 2 hours per Jamboree) 

- Game Jersey & Socks

-25 weekday practices (25 hours)

-15 weekend practices (15 hours)

-18 to 20 half-ice games (9 or 10 hours)

- 4 or 5 tournament jamborees (4 games or 2 hours per Jamboree) 

- Game Jersey & Socks

As your player grows and develops, Affton offers a variety programs to cater to their skill and competitive desire:

 

 

- House:   Squirt and PeeWee players interested in playing the game in a less competitive environment competing with other local organizations (Kirkwood, Chesterfield, Meramec, etc.) as well as an occasional out-of-town tournament.  Approximately 30 hours of home ice in addition to MO Hockey away games, playoffs and miscellaneous practice & tournament games. Also included is 12 hours of off-ice training with a certified personal trainer and Rapid Shot instructor.

 

-  Travel (Squirts 10U, PeeWees 12U & Bantams 14U):  Players interested in playing in a more competitive environment with other local organizations as well as a few out-of-town tournaments. Approximately 60 hours of home ice in addition to MO Hockey away games, playoffs and miscellaneous practice & tournament games. Also included is 12 hours of off-ice training with a certified personal trainer and Rapid Shot instructor.

 

-  Travel (Midget AA - U15, U16 & U18):   Players interested in playing in a more competitive environment with other local organizations as well as an out-of-town tournament or two. Approximately 30 hours of home ice in addition to MO Hockey away games, playoffs and miscellaneous practice & tournament games. Also included is 12 hours of off-ice training with a certified personal trainer and Rapid Shot instructor.

 

- CSDHL (Squirts 10U):  Players interested in playing at the highest competitive level of hockey competing with teams from surrounding cities, primarily Chicago. Approximately 90 hours of home ice in addition to CSDHL away games, playoffs and miscellaneous practice & tournament games. Also included is 12 hours of off-ice training with a certified personal trainer and Rapid Shot instructor.

 

 

Youth hockey is based on calendar year birth dates and breaks down as follows:

- LTP:  Open to all kids, generally 3-12 years old

- 6U ADM (Mite):  Ages 5 & 6

- 8U ADM (Mite):  Ages 7 & 8

- 10U (Squirt):  Ages 9 & 10

- 12U (PeeWee):  Ages 11 & 12

- 14U (Bantam):  Ages 13 & 14

- 15U (Midget Minor):  Age 15

- 16U (Midget Minor):  Age 15 & 16

- 18U (Midget Major):  Age 17 & 18

- Jr. Blues (Juniors):  Age 16 – 20

House Evaluation Fee - $25

Travel Tryouts Fee - $35

CSDHL Miscellaneous Equipment Fee - $150

Raffle Ticket Fee (all levels except LTP) - $100

Raffle Ticket Fee (LTP) - $50

 

Jerseys

- Travel jerseys must be purchased through Johnny Mac’s Sporting goods.  

- LTP, ADM and House Jerseys are provided to the players, which they may keep.

- CSDHL, Jr. Blues & Midget Travel jerseys are provided for the players, but must be returned.


USA Hockey Requirement

Each Player must register first with USA Hockey and then return to this Registration Session to signup for the 2017-2018 Season.

  • Step 1:  CLICK HERE to go to USA Hockey Registration and register your player(s). Be sure to PRINT and SAVE their confirmation code(s). Remember to register EACH of your players with USA Hockey. Each player must have their own unique USA Hockey confirmation number.
  • Step 2:  Return to this registration and proceed. Later in this registration session you will need to enter the USA Hockey Confirmation Code that you received in Step 1.
